Saltstraumen has the world's strongest tidal current and it can reach up to 26 knots. Every sixth hours more then 375 million cubic litres of water passes the narrow and shallow straight of Saltstraumen. This creates the worlds famous Maelstrom and it's whirlpools. The nutrition rich water feeds a uniquely rich fauna and marine life. Here you have the chance to encounter large shoals of cods and coalfish that darken the surface above you. Come face to face with the amazing wolf fish and find numerous kinds of nudi branches among all the colourful anemones and kelp forest. We welcome all divers and dive enthusiasts to Saltstraumen DiveCamp. The DiveCamp is situated close to the Saltstraumen bridge and offer diving in "the world`s strongest tidal current". We also teach PADI Courses, from Open Water Diver to Dive Master, and Padi Specialty courses. You will find us at Pluscamp Saltstraumen, 33 km from Bodo city along state highway 17. Pluscamp Saltstraumen can offer accommodation in nice cabins. The cabins are fully equipped with kitchen, bathroom and beds for up to 6 persons.
