Sycamo develops and sells products for protecting cards and documents which contain electronic information, such as debit and credit cards, access and ID cards, and passes. It has developed Card Care Systems, which protects against damage caused by magnetism and radiation as well as preventing the distant extraction of information held on electronic cards. * Used to protect plastic cards with a magnetic strip and a chip, such as debit, credit, store and service station cards, access and key cards, and membership cards * Mobile phones, magnetic locks in handbags, electronic devices such as MP3 players and so forth can demagnetise the strips on such cards * Static electricity as well as electromagnetic or ultraviolet radiation can damage chips * Card holders are produced to a special design, using a unique steel quality in the electrical steel category * Developed by Sycamo and Sintef's department for electronics and cybernetics in Oslo * Protective qualities documented by Sintef * The design of the card protector is patented * The special steel quality is also used in products for protecting passports and wallets
